      <image:title>About - About me</image:title>
<image:caption>I have been anticipating writing this entry for my blog for months. Hoping that what I write is interesting but also insightful and lets you get to know me through my thoughts and opinions about theses colorful elements of me and my life: Collective: Issues within the Black Community Council: Village and Friendships Covenant: Marriage Crisis: Losses, Grief and Counseling Crunchy: Holistic and Conscious Child Rearing So here goes… My name is Shaemekia. I am what many would consider “COUNTRY”. I was born and raised in Burnt Corn, AL; a small four-square mile community with NO traffic lights and very few stop signs. Where I lived, the entire road consisted of my maternal family. And you best believe that road was not paved, but all dirt baby. But any who… I am a graduate of the greatest Historical Black College and University (HBCU), TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY. I shall share many more colourful convos of my growth while in college, but let’s move on to the current stuff. I am a momma of two rapidly growing boys, Bryce (11) and Myles (4), and wife of 14 years. We reside in Texas in our forever home; living in close proximity to our Village. I welcome you to tune into my blog as I share my experiences through Colourful Convos. Why Colourful? Well… by definition it means “full of interest; lively and exciting” and I think those are some of my character traits, including having an opinion on most things! A fun fact about me is that I talk in quotes from my favorite movies and tv shows. I will respond quick with a “Ain’t nobody coming to see you Otis!”, “Nooooo, Ms. Sophia!”, “Curtis was supposed to love me”, “Jody, my Jody”, “Go home Rodger!”, “ Listen here Boo Boo Kitty”, “Harpo, who dis woman?”, “My office hours are from 9 to 5”, or my favorite “You want my spot Flash?” It’s a family trait, we do it so easily, that we sometimes don’t even realize we have had an entire conversation with the majority vernacular movie/tv show quotes. There is so much more about me and my colourful life to share… you just have to stay tuned by subscribing and joining theHBCUmom community.</image:caption>
